Mileage tracking by plan
N78-Ops logs business mileage only in-app. Equipment, supplies, fuel receipts, and other costs belong in your accounting software.
Basic — no mileage
The Basic (free forever) plan does not include mileage. The Mileage tile on Home shows as a locked Pro preview; Settings → Tax & pricing has no mileage rate card.
Pro — two manual ways
On Pro, you always have both manual options:
• Type miles — open Mileage from Home → Add mileage (miles × your mileage rate under Settings → Mileage options).
• Manual GPS — tap Mileage is Off (green) / Mileage is On (red) on the dashboard lower-right when you start and stop a drive. GPS uses a battery-friendly foreground mode only while tracking is on.
For GPS trips, N78-Ops compares trip date/time against approved jobs on your Schedule (± schedule buffer minutes in Settings → Mileage options) to suggest business vs personal before miles post.
Mileage log (Pro and Premier)
Open Mileage from Home to see YTD totals and the trip log. Add rows at the top, tap a row to correct date, destination, purpose, or miles, or delete a bad entry. Totals always follow the log — they are not edited directly. When a row is corrected, a Corrected … note shows what changed.
Premier — adds fully automatic mileage
Premier keeps every Pro option (typed miles and manual GPS) and adds hands-off tracking:
• Pair your work vehicle Bluetooth under Settings → Mileage options → Start tracking → Automatic (vehicle Bluetooth).
• When that vehicle connects, N78-Ops checks Schedule and date/time first—GPS starts only for work-related drives (personal trips skip GPS to save battery). Tracking stops when the vehicle disconnects.
• Business miles from automatic trips can commit to Mileage when the drive ends.
While GPS is actively tracking (Pro manual or Premier automatic)
• Red status bar — the system status bar turns red on every screen while GPS is running so you always know location is active (GPS uses more battery).
• Driving vs walking — the tracker is smart about motion: it distinguishes driving from walking, so pacing around a job site does not inflate drive miles the way road travel does.
• Stopped timeout (manual GPS only) — on Manual (dashboard button), if the vehicle stays stationary longer than Stopped timeout (minutes) in Settings → Mileage options (1–20, default 10), GPS auto-stops to limit battery drain when you forget to tap Mileage is Off. Automatic (vehicle Bluetooth) does not use this—GPS stops when the paired vehicle disconnects.
Settings (Pro and Premier)
Open Settings → Mileage options for mileage-specific controls:
• Mileage rate — reimbursement per mile (IRS default or custom).
• Start tracking — Manual (dashboard button) on Pro and Premier; Automatic (vehicle Bluetooth) adds on Premier.
• Schedule buffer (minutes) — window before/after a scheduled job for business-trip classification.
• Stopped timeout (minutes, manual GPS) — 1–20, default 10 — stationary auto-stop for manual GPS only; Premier automatic stops on vehicle Bluetooth disconnect.
Privacy
Trip distance stays on the device; Nivo78 does not receive live GPS. See How your data is protected and the in-app privacy policy for location and Bluetooth disclosure.
