Scheduling engine

N78-Ops treats your calendar like a fluid resource—checking jobs and personal time before you promise a slot you cannot keep.

The N78-Ops scheduling engine: built for solo work

Most business apps treat your calendar like a static grid. N78-Ops treats it like a fluid resource. Segmented accrual logic is built for operators who juggle multi-day projects alongside the messiness of real life—checking new jobs against existing work and your personal device calendar before you promise a time you cannot keep.

Intelligent multi-day accrual

Forget manually splitting a 16-hour job across three days. N78-Ops follows your work-week fabric—configured work days, morning and afternoon segments, and lunch excluded. When you book a long-duration project, billable minutes flow into your work windows automatically, pausing at your work-day end and resuming at the next morning start without you lifting a finger.

Schedule-around errand awareness

Real life does not stop for a job. If you have a doctor’s appointment or a school pickup on day two of a three-day project, N78-Ops does not just flag a conflict—it plans around blocking personal time. The engine carves a gap for your errand, adds trip each way and your buffer between jobs, and keeps billable job minutes unchanged so you can leave site, handle your business, and return with a realistic timeline.

Hardened safety margins

We do not just schedule the work; we schedule the logistics. Best fit suggestions enforce your custom guardrails:

  • Trip padding — dedicated travel time before and after every site visit.
  • Interim buffers — a mandatory gap between jobs for cleanup, overruns, or a quick lunch.
  • Segment protectionBest fit skips impossible suggestions where travel or buffers would eat into billable hours; manual picks show TIGHT or CONFLICT so you confirm before save.

Zero-omission temporal integrity

N78-Ops is hardened against edge cases that crash lesser apps. Scheduling date logic is covered by automated tests for:

  • DST shifts — no dropped hours or invalid instants during daylight-saving transitions.
  • Leap-year rollovers — seamless continuity from Feb 28 through March 1.
  • Holiday blackouts — intelligent skipping of configured days off and weekends while maintaining constant billable totals.

Your workflow, your choice

On multi-day jobs, N78-Ops split billable segments around blocking personal calendar time by default (billable minutes stay the same). Slot badges show OPEN, TIGHT, or CONFLICT—CONFLICT overlaps need your confirmation before Accept this slot; TIGHT warns when trip or buffer is tight but you can still save. Set Expected job duration on the quote before you lock; Schedule pre-fills from that value (or your Settings default).

At booking time — assisted scheduling, not silent automation:

Double-booking guardrail

Before a slot is committed, the conflict engine checks it against your existing jobs and your personal calendar. Slot badges show OPEN, TIGHT, or CONFLICT—CONFLICT overlaps need your confirmation before Accept this slot; TIGHT warns when trip or buffer is tight but you can still save—so a clash surfaces before you commit, not after the customer is expecting you.

Smart slot suggestions

Best fit auto-suggests the first open workday and open windows using job duration, round-trip travel, buffers, work days, and real busy blocks (booked jobs, timed calendar events—including multi-day spans on each day they touch—and due tasks)—looking ahead across a 90-day horizon. Tap any day on the calendar during booking to override in Exact time (hour/minute pickers; stays on that day until you cycle suggestions again).

Your calendar stays yours

With your permission, N78-Ops reads calendar events only to check for conflicts. New jobs open your calendar app with a prefilled event for you to review and save—N78-Ops never silently writes to your calendar. See in-app HelpBooking a job on the calendar.
