What N78-Ops won’t do
Some of the best things about N78-Ops are the things it leaves out. The privacy commitments below hold on every plan; Premier adds optional Google sign-in and Drive backup when you want them.
Account & cloud
No signup. No account to create to start working—just a one-time Privacy & Terms tap on first launch.
No forced cloud login. The app never makes you sign into a Nivo78 cloud.
No cloud needed. Clients, quotes, schedules, jobs, and invoices all run on your device.
No cloud backup on Basic. Google Drive backup is a Premier feature; Basic backups are local files you control.
No background sync. Your device copy is the source of truth.
Cost & commitment
No subscription required on Basic. The free forever plan is genuinely useful for real business work—generous client and quote limits for new and smaller operations.
Paid plans are optional. Pro and Premier are annual Google Play subscriptions (US list Pro $79.95/year, Premier $129.95/year) when you need higher caps plus Finance (expenses, manual GPS mileage + typed miles, tax reporting), Item Catalog (up to 125 saved items), Save for accountant (ZIP), and QuickBooks export (on by default on Pro and Premier; turn off in Settings), Insights, automatic mileage (Schedule + work-vehicle pairing; GPS only for work-related drives), payment milestones, and optional scheduled Google Drive backup.
No trial countdown on Basic. Keep using the free forever tier as long as you like.
Privacy & data
No ads. No trackers. No telemetry. Your usage stays on your device.
No selling your data. No data brokers, ever.
No data leaving your device by default. Personal and customer records stay on the phone unless you send email or text, turn on Hosted quote and invoice links in email under Settings → Quote & invoice options and send while online (off by default), run an export or backup you save elsewhere, or enable optional scheduled Google Drive backup on Premier.
No silent calendar writes. New jobs open your calendar app for you to review and save.
No cloud push. Reminders are local notifications only.
Control
No vendor lock-in. Portable PDF, verified Bkp_*.zip and Bkp_*.json full backups, spreadsheet CSV exports, and accountant ZIPs—to wherever you choose. CSV exports do not restore the app; full backups do.
One of the most transparent “what we won’t do” lists you’ll see in a business app.
Basic, free forever on purpose
Nivo78 Mobile Apps, LLC offers a useful Basic (free forever) plan inside N78-Ops on Google Play—real quotes, clients, and scheduling with no expiry.
Generous limits (30 clients, 25 active quotes, and 30 Item Catalog items) are meant for businesses just starting out and smaller operations that want to run day-to-day work without a subscription.
Basic is free forever on purpose: run your business on the free tier as long as it fits, and upgrade to Pro or Premier only when you want higher caps or the bells and whistles those plans add. Your feedback shapes what ships next.
Invoices when you have no internet
On the device, nothing blocks you from finishing the work. Build, finalize, and store an invoice locally just like online—the numbers, line items, and PDF all come from local data.
Sending is a handoff to your apps—not automatic. Finalize offline, then when you are ready tap Email quote or Text. N78-Ops opens your mail or messaging app with the invoice (PDF attachment or message body); you tap Send there. The app does not queue messages or send them when Wi‑Fi or cellular returns. Meanwhile you can still hand the customer a PDF (share or print), take payment offline, and record it in the app.
Takeaway: you never lose the ability to bill for work already done—electronic delivery waits until you open mail or messaging and send it yourself.
How your data is protected
Security here isn’t a slogan—these are the actual methods N78-Ops uses. Each names the technology and what it means for you.
On your device by default. Clients, quotes, and money live in Android’s private app sandbox on your phone. Nivo78 does not receive your business database. Personal and customer data leaves the phone only when you send email or text, turn on Hosted quote and invoice links in email under Settings → Quote & invoice options and send while online (off by default), export or back up files, enable optional scheduled Google Drive backup (Premier), or start another feature that moves a copy elsewhere.
Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Your local business data is sealed using Google’s Jetpack Security EncryptedFile with AES-256-GCM keys held in the Android Keystore (hardware-backed on supported devices)—so a lost or stolen phone doesn’t hand over readable data.
Secure storage (Pro and Premier). Paid plans add Settings → Secure → Secure storage for extra secrets (license numbers, keys, and similar), each sealed with a separate AES-256-GCM Android Keystore key. Client private notes stay hidden until you unlock the session. Use biometric or device PIN when available, or your master password. The Keystore key is invalidated if you enroll a new fingerprint or face. Standard portable backups do not include vault secrets.
Strong export encryption (PBKDF2, 600,000 iterations). Password-protected backups and exports are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and a key stretched by PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 at 600,000 iterations, so a captured file resists brute-force guessing.
Your password is never stored. We keep only a one-way PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 verifier, checked in constant time. The master password itself is never written to disk or sent anywhere—which is exactly why no one, including us, can recover it for you.
Cloud stays optional and on your account. Optional scheduled backup and Google sign-in (Premier) use your Google account when you connect them. Scheduled runs write verified portable backup files to documents/N78-Ops on the device; password-protected Bkp_*.zip exports use the PBKDF2/AES-256 encryption above when you choose encrypted backup from Data & backups. Pick a scheduled backup folder (including Google Drive) so Import can pull copies from a location you control.
Honest caveat: a password-protected CSV for Windows uses the older ZipCrypto format for compatibility—weaker than the AES-256 used by portable backups and accountant ZIPs. The app flags this at export time.
Master password & data portability
One password: Set a master password when you’re ready—the app prompts you the first time you make a protected backup or secure export (and reminds you after first run). The same password unlocks app restores and authorizes every secure export. Keep it safe: if you forget it, the installed app keeps working—but password-protected backups and exports you already made cannot be opened or restored without it.
Protected exports: Standard password-protected .zip files (readable on PC/Mac) using your single master password—no per-file prompts.
Plain exports: Available when you need raw, unprotected data and accept the security risk.
